mind_mistress: "That also explains why the hounds are gone... they've passed us" she crosses her arms
mind_mistress: Lucius: "Okay... that makes sense... as much as fay things make sense"
mind_mistress: Brigit shrugs
colleen: "but where are our friends?"
mind_mistress: Lucius: "Yes, where are they?"
mind_mistress: Brigit: "Well, either they ran, got captured, or went into the mound"
colleen: "we should go to the mound ...ask them"
mind_mistress: "either way, the only thing we can do is meet them in York..."
mind_mistress: "and hope they made it"
colleen: "but our horses are gone too, with our gold"
mind_mistress: "I imagine the horses and gold are with them, wherever they are"
colleen: "how do we get to York?"
mind_mistress: Lucius: "So... what happened with the wild sudden crazy sex?"

mind_mistress: and starts slowly for the mound

colleen: "well where would the door be?
colleen: I look at the mound and start to concentrate

mind_mistress: and you notice an area with silver ribbons extending from it...
mind_mistress: waving in a nonexistent wind like seeweed

mind_mistress: Lucius approaches slowly
colleen: I start to walk towards it
mind_mistress: Brigit: "If only we had a hospitality gift..."

mind_mistress: "We've already paid"

colleen: I grasp their hands

mind_mistress: it's like going through air...
mind_mistress: and then your head goes in...
mind_mistress: and it's all dark...
mind_mistress: and you see nothing...

mind_mistress: and feel like stone floors below...
colleen: I try to focus on my forehead
colleen: to produce some light
mind_mistress: as you do, you start to see...
mind_mistress: like a corridor of stone...
mind_mistress: coming into view...
mind_mistress: very dimly
mind_mistress: Brigit: "WOULD THE LORDS OF LIGHT BLESS US WITH THEIR LIGHT"
colleen: I hold Lucius' and Brigits hand tighter
mind_mistress: and the stones of the walls start glowing a soft green...
mind_mistress: and look more real...
mind_mistress: except for that eerie glow...
mind_mistress: Brigit: "OUR THANKS"
mind_mistress: Lucius: "It doesn't look like they're here"
colleen: "thank-you"
mind_mistress: Brigit: "They're here... they just don't care to be seen..."
mind_mistress: and then you hear like a ruffling of feathers...
mind_mistress: and as it gets louder...
mind_mistress: you realize it's actually more like clapping
colleen: I turn to the noise
mind_mistress: it's all around...
mind_mistress: the corridor has gotten a lot wider...
mind_mistress: almost like its shape moves and flows to their whims
colleen: we walk forward
mind_mistress: Lucius: "Well... we're glad you enjoyed the show"
mind_mistress: he keeps moving forward...
mind_mistress: and then comes to a fountain...
mind_mistress: and you feel very thirsty
mind_mistress: burbling up right in your path
colleen: very thirsty

mind_mistress: Brigit: "Remember... take nothing... not even water, if you want to come out"
colleen: I stop and look in the water
colleen: "but it's just water"
mind_mistress: Lucius: "Aren't they offering hospitality"

mind_mistress: Lucius goes around, pulling your hand,
colleen: "but we need to drink"

mind_mistress: the glowing green stones...
mind_mistress: the fading of clapping
mind_mistress: you wonder why they don't show themselves
colleen: "when you say permanent what do you mean?"
mind_mistress: Brigit: "If you accept their hospitality... without stating the terms... they decide the terms..."
mind_mistress: "everything with them is contracts, honor, and keeping your word... if you aren't specific enough... it's your problem"
colleen: "maybe theres a deal to be made?"
mind_mistress: "We paid for passage... they agreed..."
mind_mistress: "Which doesn't mean they can't trick us..."
mind_mistress: Lucius: "Uh, Brigit, look..."
mind_mistress: You see up ahead... like someone dropping a trail of bread crumbs... but there's no one there to drop them
colleen: I turn to Lucius
mind_mistress: just chunks appearing and falling
colleen: "a trail?"
mind_mistress: Lucius: "Looks that way..."
colleen: "or a trap?"
mind_mistress: Brigit: "That should be the..."
mind_mistress: You notice a clinking sound... another trail... of gold coins being dropped...
mind_mistress: bread leading right, gold to the left...
mind_mistress: the chamber has gotten huge by now, the walls quite far
mind_mistress: Brigit: "And that's the trap"
colleen: "which way to go?"
mind_mistress: Brigit: "Follow the bread crumbs"
mind_mistress: "But don't take any"
colleen: "but the gold could have been dropped by our friends?"
mind_mistress: Soon you're at the wall... and the bread leads into a corridor like the one you entered
mind_mistress: Brigit: "Not likely... they're testing us"
colleen: "ok"
mind_mistress: Lucius leads to the bread crumb corridor
mind_mistress: but you hear a wailing beautiful song behind you
mind_mistress: you turn your head...
mind_mistress: but can't see the singer...
colleen: and listen
mind_mistress: it's haunting and beautiful...
mind_mistress: Lucius stops to listen...
colleen: "listen"
colleen: "it's like a siren's song"
mind_mistress: It's soo beautiful
mind_mistress: alluring...
colleen: very beautiful
mind_mistress: Brigit: "It's... mother..."
mind_mistress: she turns... smiling...

colleen: I start to move towards the sound

mind_mistress: the song turns sad...
mind_mistress: "she's... so sad... she needs me..."
colleen: "no we don't have permission...not part of or arrangement...remember?"
mind_mistress: Brigit seems sad... but nods...
mind_mistress: "no right... to see her... sad..."
colleen: I pull on her hand away from the song
mind_mistress: she follows sadly...
mind_mistress: and Lucius
mind_mistress: enters the corridor...
mind_mistress: following the crumbs...
mind_mistress: going down the corridor...
mind_mistress: the song fades slowly...
mind_mistress: quieter...
mind_mistress: and Brigit sighs

mind_mistress: "my mother went underhill years ago... it could have been her"
mind_mistress: "but probably wasn't... just fae trickery"

mind_mistress: and you see the corridor leading out into some shrubbery
mind_mistress: and light of day outside
mind_mistress: he pushes some branches aside...
mind_mistress: and helps you come out...
colleen: "where are we?"
mind_mistress: Clara and Melric are there with the horses, in a clearing, besides the mound you came out of
mind_mistress: Clara: "About time you got here!"
colleen: "Clara! Melric!"
mind_mistress: Clara smiles and goes to hug you
colleen: "Why did you go?"
colleen: I hug her

mind_mistress: Clara: "Why did we go?"

mind_mistress: "The hounds were about to overtake us, you had been at it for a while, and we couldn't get you out... so we went ahead and waited for you"
